Computer Classes
The
objective of this class is to enhance and broaden the knowledge and
interest of students about Armenian Websites on internet and in that way
attract them to Armenian language, history, and culture. It is important
that the students know the value of learning Armenian and studying
Armenian culture, which is important for their identity (who they are)
not for the present time only, but also for their future and for their
entire life. At these classes we utilize not only internet (www.Learnarmenian.com),
but also use other educational materials (CD ROM-s, etc.), which are as
follows:
Ayp Ou Pen For Kids
A Leaf from the Tree
Armenian Tales
Armenia
Armenian Music
Armenian Art & Paintings
Below is a
tentative schedule for each grade, by the way the duration of each class
with each grade is half an hour:
Grades
1-2: We use Ayp Ou Pen for Kids CD ROM to re-enforce students
learning the alphabet. By using visual and audio techniques, the
students get to know the sounds of the Armenian alphabet, find correct
words, and make simples sentences. We also use Armenian puzzles so that
the students can enjoy using the computers
Grades
-3-4: We use Ayp Ou Pen for Kids CD, Armenian Tales, and use
Armenian Puzzles on www.learnarmenian.com
Grades
6-7: Students learn how to type in Armenian using their own
textbooks. We use Arasan Fonts which are compatible with Windows. It is
important that students learn how to type. We are striving to reach the
point that graduate students are able to type their graduate speeches.
For these
grades, we also use “Armenia” CD-ROM, which introduces students to all
aspects of life in Armenia (cities, sightseeing places, monuments,
churches, etc), Armenian Music CD-ROM, which introduces students to
different genres of Armenian music (classical, folk, and pop), and
Armenian Art & Paintings CD-ROM, which introduces students to Armenian
art, paintings, and famous Armenian artists. |
